On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, Governor Charlie Baker delivered remarks thanking the people of Massachusetts as he and Lt. Governor Karyn Polito complete their “eight cherished years” in office.

Governor Baker thanked residents for their “kindness and generosity” as well as the “creativity, decency, and the shared sense of purpose that we saw everywhere we went.”

On Wednesday, January 4, Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito have a traditional symbol exchange with Governor-elect Maura Healey and Lt. Governor-elect Kim Driscoll.  Then at 5 p.m. Baker participates in the Lone Walk Ceremony from the steps of the Massachusetts State House.

Healey and Driscoll are being sworn in during an official ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 5 at the State House, followed by their inaugural addresses.
