On May 22, 2020, the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce has confirmed that Kristie Ferrantella is now the permanent president/CEO of the Chamber.  She had previously been acting as interim president since January 30, 2020.

A native of Nantucket, Kristie has worked at the Chamber since 2018 and brings a diverse set of statistical, economics, mathematics and research skills to her new position.

Chamber Chairman Burt Rice said the Chamber is confident that Ferrantella “will take the Chamber to a whole new level that is all about local businesses and our support for them.”

Ferrantella, a Nantucket native, has an academic background in statistical, economics, mathematics and research, having graduated Simmons University summa cum laude (B. S. in Economics and Mathematics) and University of Massachusetts Boston (M.A. in Applied Economics). Locally, Ferrantella is a member of the Town of Nantucket Select Board and Scholarship Committee.

“I am honored to be entrusted with this challenging position which integrates much of my education and work experience along with travel and tourism development. Having worked in Washington D.C. and Boston, it is fulfilling to bring my skills to bear on this multifaceted position where I can implement acquired and learn new skills while supporting and promoting the place I call home, Nantucket,” Ferrantella said.
